Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogor have commended voters for their commitment toward the victory of the party at the just concluded local government chairmanship and councillorship elections in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The leaders had also commended the commitment of voters toward ensuring that the party won the two councilorship and chairmanship positions held that the local government elections is clear indication that come 2027, the party will have no rival.
This is just as a retired Shell staff, Engr Akporuku Gabriel joined the PDP family in appreciation of Governor Sheriff MORE Agenda in transforming the state.
Addressing faithful at the event, Senior Special Assistant, (Political) to the Delta State Governor, Olorogun (Hon.) Kpuwhara Anthony JP, said, Today we have gathered to celebrate the victory of our party at the just concluded Local government elections.
“We want to appreciate your support, loyalty and commitment toward the success and delivering of all our candidates from chairman to councillors in Ogor two wards and in Ughelli North in particular.
“The number of votes we had in Oviri-Ogor community at the elections was overwhelming and at Edjekota, it was also amazing.
It was through your power, zeal and party interest that made us to triumph and I am appealing for more commitment from among us in other to reap the dividends of democracy in our communities.”
Also speaking, Mr Christian Obayendo disclosed that the victory recorded at the polls was a clear indication that the people are tired of the All Progressive Congress, APC that has brought much hunger and anger to the nation.
On why he joined the PDP, Engr. Akporuku Gabriel disclosed that he has to join the party because of the development, Governor Sheriff is bringing to Delta state.
He said, I have never belong to any party before now until obedient came when I become part and parcel of it the movement but from the look of things, PDP is the only reliable party in Delta that one can work with.
“I was motivated by the activities of Olorogun Hon Kpuwhara Anthony JP to join the party and am happy to have taken that decision because PDP is the only party that is ready to work with the people.”
